Synthetic Mica

Unlike mica which carries natural impurities along with it, the synthetic version is clean and much more transparent. This allows for more brilliant sparkle effects and for cleaner iridescent colors.

The synthetic mica substrate imbues our specialty pigments, with unique features that offer application and marketing benefits to manufacturers and formulators. The Fluorphlogopites are finding increased acceptance in a wide variety of lip care applications where their intensity and purity are especially valued. In addition, they have become widely accepted for their use as a base for many new and unique color travel opportunities. Synthetic micas may be applied to a suite of applications. However, synthetic micas of a larger particle size are not applicable to formulations in the eye area.
